FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why do we get lines and wrinkles?

Many years of laughing, smiling and frowning can cause our skin to become less supple and the creases in our face deepen into lines that become permanent. This is due to the over use of facial muscles. Treatments with BTX-A relax these muscles and so reduce the appearance of fine lines which in turn can make the skin appear dramatically smoother.

What does the treatment involve?

After cleansing the upper face, a small number of injections are placed into the affected areas with minimal discomfort. A local anaesthetic cream can be applied if you are at all concerned.

At the site of the injections there will be a small raised area which usually disappears within 30 minutes. You will be able to carry on with your normal daily activities straight away and apply minimal make up if you wish, after the procedure.

We advise drinking 2 litres of water over the course of the day and ask you to avoid exercise for the first 24 hours. Facials, saunas, laser treatments and chemical peels should be avoided for 7 days. All of the above will be discussed with you at the initial consultation.

How long before I can see the results?

You will feel your skin tighten over the course of the first 3-4 days and will see the full effect of treatment after 14 days. Treatments usually last between 3 and 4 months and may last up to 6 months in some clients.

Is the treatment suitable for me?

There are a few medical conditions for which anti-wrinkle treatments will not be suitable. If you are pregnant/breast-feeding, have an allergy to eggs or suffer from certain medical conditions affecting your nerves or muscles, we would not advise treatment. We always take a full medical history during the initial consultation and will advise you if we have any concerns.

Your safety and well-being are our priority!

Fillings are used to restore teeth that have been damaged by decay or have been cracked or broken.

Composite

Composite fillings or white dental fillings can be matched to the natural colour of your teeth, meaning that the fillings are less noticeable. This is especially important if fillings are needed in front teeth that are visible when you smile. Composite fillings are strong and hard wearing depending on the material used. Our experienced dentists will explain this procedure thoroughly before commencing with treatment.

Benefits of Dental Fillings

  • Prevention – By having teeth filled and treated quickly after decay has been found or a break is noticed the tooth will be prevented from deteriorating further and avoids the need for more extensive dental treatment.
  • Long lasting – Tooth coloured fillings can last many years depending on how well you look after your teeth.
  • Appearance – Composite or white dental fillings usually look like your natural teeth and are great for replacing silver or amalgam fillings.

Below are a list of all the treatments we offer:

Dental Implants

Posted By service On January 8th, 2016 in Treatments

A dental implant is essentially a substitute for a natural root of a tooth that has failed. Each implant is placed into the bone which is carefully prepared at the precise location of the missing tooth. An implant is a titanium screw, just like a tooth root, it is placed in the jawbone.

In order to support replacement teeth, dental implants allow a variety of components to be fitted. Once fitted, these components provide a strong foundation for long-term support of crowns, bridges or dentures.

Implants have now been used by dentists for a number of years and are a safe and long lasting way to replace missing teeth.

In order to place implants it is necessary to ensure that there is enough bone in your jaw for the implant to be placed into. This will mean that if you are considering implants we will examine you and take x-rays to fully assess your bone level and suitability.

Benefits of Dental Implants:

  • No need to damage adjacent teeth – If an implant is needed to replace missing teeth there is no need to prepare the teeth on either side of the gap as you would have to with a bridge.
  • Cost Effective – – In the long term if implants are well maintained and looked after, they can be more cost effective than either bridges or dentures. Dental implants once placed can last a lifetime if taken care of properly
